JOIN THE HERD

Through the Join the Herd Initiative, we support both individual women and the people in organizations who work hard to provide healthcare to women every day.

We offer a Partnership Program for Providers of women's care

We are available to partner with organizations that provide support for: women’s mental, physical, sexual, or reproductive health, women’s rights, and women’s spiritual wellbeing.

Our Partnership Pillars:

Pillar 1: We offer Rest Workshops to your organization’s staff and practitioners

It is natural for those of us who provide care for others to experience overwhelm, exhaustion, stress, and secondhand trauma - the trauma that can develop from hearing about or witnessing the trauma of others.

Rest is one of the most important states that the body and mind need to heal, however rest is often challenging to access. Exploring rest through the therapeutic perspective of horses can create a shift for us where rest can feel accessible, inspiring and safe.

Our Rest Workshops are rooted in Tricia Hersey’s work “Rest is Resistance” and integrate distance Equine-Assisted Learning (learning from horses without being in their physical presence) with gentle sound healing and relaxation practices. Our workshop is in-person, we bring it to your location and we adapt it to your needs around time and space.

*We offer Rest Workshops to organizations within reasonable driving distance from Hampden County, MA. If your organization exists outside of this area, we can bring the workshop to you if you pay for travel fees. Workshops are free unless your organization has a budget to pay for them.

The process for bringing in Jamila in to lead a Rest Workshop is simple

Pillar 2: We provide you with materials about our work to share with your clients

We provide you with both digital and paper brochures to share with your clients so that they can learn more about our free and low-cost virtual Equine-Assisted Learning resources. We can send you these brochures or bring them when we come for a rest workshop.

Pillar 3: We invite you into a Referral Network

In addition to providing you with brochures to share our resources, we will also feature your organization on our website and provide links to refer our participants to your resources.

So many of us have some degree of sexual trauma. We do not have to suffer alone or in silence.

Horses bring us into connection, they meet us in our hearts,

they listen to the parts of us that cannot, or do not

speak in words.
